Nowflation is a static, read-only website: no accounts and no comment forms, and the site's own servers collect, store and sell no personal data. The one way to give an email address is the newsletter box in the page footer, an embedded form run by Substack for The Fiorillo Letter: it loads only when you scroll to it, and an address typed into it goes to Substack under Substack's privacy policy, never to this site. The site is delivered by Cloudflare's CDN, which processes standard technical information (IP address, user agent, requested pages) to serve and secure the site under Cloudflare's own privacy policy. Page views are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, a script Cloudflare adds to every page: it sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and does not follow you across sites, and the site sees only aggregate counts. The site itself sets no tracking cookies. Advertising vendors, including Google, may set cookies as described in the advertising section below, and Substack may set its own when the newsletter box loads. Two preferences are stored in your browser's local storage and never leave your device: your light/dark theme choice and the state you last picked in the property tax and insurance estimate.
Content pages may display advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including ads based on prior visits to this and other websites; how Google uses data from partner sites is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and personalized advertising can be disabled at Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com) or aboutads.info. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland see Google's consent message on pages that carry ads, asking whether Google and its partners may use cookies and personal data to serve and measure ads, before those ads are shown. This site is not directed at children under 13 and knowingly collects no personal information from anyone. Because we hold no personal data about visitors there is normally nothing to access, correct or delete — but any privacy question, including GDPR or CCPA requests, can be sent via the contact page and will be answered promptly. If our practices ever change, this policy is updated first with a new effective date. Effective October 4, 2026.
