US economic calendar — every release, consensus vs actual

Every scheduled macro release — CPI, jobs, GDP, PCE, retail sales, Fed decisions — with the Street consensus before each print and the actual after, impact-ranked so the market movers stand out. The calendar is the metronome of macro: every number on this site updates on the rhythm shown here.

CPI lands mid-month at 8:30 AM ET (the next print is on the forecast page with our call, locked the evening before the release), jobs on the first Friday, PCE at month-end. Consensus figures come from the same feed the scoreboard grades, so what you see here is what the forecasters are held to there.

What this page is

The release schedule that every number on this site updates on. Each event carries the Street consensus before the print and the actual after it; the same consensus feed is what the scoreboard grades forecasters against, so the figures here are the ones they are held to. Two layers are shown: the engine's own calendar of the releases it forecasts (CPI, PCE, the jobs report) with Nowflation's call on each, and the full US economic calendar for the current window (October 11, 2026 to November 1, 2026, 1517 events) filtered to what moves markets.

The next CPI, for October 2026, is released November 10, 2026; the Nowflation Forecast is 3.86%, the current call until it is locked the evening before the release. For that print the consensus on the four graded targets is headline — year over year and — month over month, core — and —. CPI lands mid-month, the jobs report on the first Friday, PCE at month-end; all at 8:30 AM Eastern. A subscribable version of this list is at nowflation.ics.

A surprise is the actual minus the consensus in the release's own units; the sign that counts as "good" depends on the series (a claims miss to the downside is good news, a CPI miss to the downside is disinflation). Markets trade the surprise, not the level, which is why the consensus column matters as much as the actual.

How to use it

Read it against the Gauge (3.45%): CPI day is when the components without a live source step to their new official levels and the gap to the print resets; jobs Friday is when the payrolls forecast on the jobs page is graded; PCE day updates the measure the Fed's 2% objective is written on on Fed Watch. Times are as reported by the source feed (FMP's US economic calendar, the engine's release table and the forecast receipts) and the snapshot refreshes each morning before the open.

Pre-registration
A forecast written to the public record before the outcome is known, so it can be graded honestly and never edited after the fact. Nowflation locks each CPI call into a dated receipt the evening before the release, with a SHA-256 hash of the file; until then the call is provisional and moves with its inputs. The receipt record lists every month with its status: the earliest receipt was locked a week early without a hash, and a month whose receipt was written after the print is shown as not pre-registered and left out of the live record. Pre-registered calls are graded on the scoreboard next to the Cleveland Fed, the Street and Kalshi.
Consensus
The expected print shown for each release before it lands, the benchmark a print is judged against. This calendar shows the feed’s own estimate (FMP), which is often posted before the surveys of economists close.
Impact
The feed's rating of how much a release usually moves markets; this page defaults to high-impact events.
Data month vs release date
CPI for a month is released about two weeks into the following month; the "data month" is what the number describes, the "date" is when it is published.
